1. When the driven component has large inertia and it is required to achieve braking or forward/reverse motion within a short time, a safety valve buffer should be installed in the return oil circuit to prevent sudden hydraulic shocks that could lead to damage or accidents.
2. When using a quantitative motor, if you want smooth starting and stopping, you should adopt the necessary pressure control or flow control methods during circuit design.
3. When a hydraulic motor is used as the power source for lifting equipment or traveling mechanisms, it is essential to install a speed-limiting valve to prevent the heavy load from falling rapidly or the vehicle’s traveling mechanism from overspeeding when descending a slope, thereby avoiding serious accidents.
4. Since hydraulic motors always experience leakage, even if the inlet and outlet ports of the hydraulic motor are closed to achieve braking, there will still be a slow slip. When prolonged braking is required, an additional brake should be provided to prevent rotation.
5. When starting under full load, attention should be paid to the hydraulic motor’s starting torque value, as the starting torque of a hydraulic motor is always lower than its rated torque. Ignoring this could prevent the working mechanism from operating.
6. Since the backpressure (outlet pressure) of the hydraulic motor’s return oil is always higher than atmospheric pressure, the motor’s drain line must be routed separately back to the oil tank and cannot be connected to the hydraulic motor’s return oil line.
